Olive Software is incorporated in the United States with a head office in Santa Clara, California and sales offices in Denver and New York. The underlying technology originates in Israel where Olive’s CTO Emil Steinvil and Olive’s R&D is based.

Emil, who is Russian by birth and left the former Soviet Union in xxxx to emigrate to Israel, invented Olive’s unique patent-protected method of enabling the location of an object on a page to be accurately transferred to XML code. Olive’s so-called Proximity XML underlies the basis of its digitisation process.

Assisted by the vision of co-founder Yoni Stern this invention revolutionised the delivery of newspapers, magazines and, in fact, any printed document online direct to the browser without the need for the user to download any specific software to read the publication.

Olive is backed by Sequoia Capital and currently employs more than 100 people worldwide.
