The beauty of digital brochures is that you can learn so much about your customers. Your digital brochure can create two kinds of statistics.
Traffic Statistics
Not specific to any individual but reflect the overall traffic on your brochure: visitors, unique visitors, where they came from, what they looked at, where they clicked—and a lot more—is all recorded. Essentially it tells you how popular your brochure is and when and how customers are using it. We use Google Analytics as the default stats package.
User Statistics
If you are emailing to a database, you want to know which clients are reading the digital brochure. Most of this information is contained within your email software which should tell you if the email was opened by the recipient and if they clicked on the link to access the digital brochure.
You can, however, identify which customers buy through the digital brochure if you are able to put some code on the check-out page of your e-commerce site. By linking this to the goals function in Google Analytics you can see both who has bought items and identify if your online brochure is returning money on your investment.
